Katterpod

Katterpods were a crop grown by Bajoran farmers. The useful part of the katterpods are the roots, which were called "beans". (DS9 episode: "Shadowplay")
The farmer Mullibok grew katterpods at his farm on Jeraddo. (DS9 episode: "Progress")
Later, when Mullibok moved to the resettlement camp near Lacroya, he again grew katterpods there. (DS9 novel: Warchild)
