Kavaria was a planet located in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant, in orbit of the Kavaria star system. In the space of the Cardassian Union, Kavaria is located near the Badlands and the Dreon system. Kavarian tiger-bats are native to this world.

When Cardassians first colonized Kavaria, the Kavarian tiger-bats proved to be an annoyance. The Maquis later attempted to use Kavaria as a base of operations, but the Kavarian tiger-bats forced them to abandon their base. (Decipher RPG module: Creatures)

In the year 2372, Jake Sisko was writing a story which featured Kavarian tiger-bats and asked Kasidy Yates if her freighter runs had ever taken her to Kavaria. Yates had never visited Kavaria, but suggested to Jake that Quark might know someone who had. (DS9 episode: "For the Cause")
