Kazarite

Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek content.

The Kazarites were a race native to planet Kazar. While techologically advanced, the Kazarites were noted ecologists, and largely lived in agricultural societies well into the 23rd century.

Kazarites were able to communicate telepathically with animals from all planets. The Kazarites also had limited telekinetic powers and were able to teleport themselves mentally.

Kazarites often carried pellets in bags around their necks, mixing them with water into a yeastlike food. (TOS reference: The Making of Star Trek: The Motion Picture)

Kazarite robes are worn by a Tellarite councillor in 2286. (TOS movie: The Voyage Home)

Kazarites were recruited to help revive the ecology of planet Mestiko following the destruction caused by "the Pulse". The Kazarites also allowed the Mestikan Zamestaad and other Payav refugees settle in the Jarol Desert on Kazar following the mar-Atyya revolution in 2274. (TOS eBook: Mere Anarchy: The Darkness Drops Again)

Lieutenant Chamish, a male Kazarite, served on the USS Titan under Captain William T. Riker in 2380. (TTN novel: Orion's Hounds)
