In the mirror universe, Ke Hovath was a Bajoran male who was a professor at the Sidau College of Physics. Intendant Kira Nerys recruited him from the College to serve in the Alliance's Research and Development Branch.

In late 2376,Intendant Kira Nerys commissioned Professor Ke to made certain upgrades to the inter-dimensional transport device constructed by Miles "Smiley" O'Brien. After the Intendant insisted that Ke finish the project alone, Ke finished in 2377 just before the IKS Negh'Var reached Harkoum. Only when he had finished did he realize that the device was now capable of transport to any parallel universe and not just the "primary" universe that the device had originally been built to access. After this realization, Intendant Kira killed Ke by poisoning the wine that they drank together.Intendant Kira had already taken the last of the antidote. (DS9 novel: Warpath)
