Kelinda was a Kelvan female, and a member of a group of Kelvans who traveled from the Andromeda Galaxy to the Milky Way Galaxy, to find new territories for the Kelvan Empire to conquer and occupy.

They made contact with Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of USS Enterprise. During attempt to take the Enterprise to Andromeda, the Kelvans began to experience emotions. Kirk taught Kelinda about love, making Rojan extremely jealous. They eventually accepted an offer of aid for their people by the Federation, and colonized an uninhabited planet. (TOS episode: "By Any Other Name")

By the late 26th century, Kelinda still lived on the planet with Rojan and the rest of the Kelvans. Their peaceful farming community was briefly disrupted by Prefect Tamar, sent to discover why the Kelvans had abandoned their military mission. Kelinda turned Tamar into a cube and stored him in the barn. (TOS - Strange New Worlds 9 short story: "Gone Native")
