Kemal Marouk was a scientist and co-designer of "The Joy Machine" and current "Paymaster". A friend of James T. Kirk. He is used by "The Joy Machine" to lure Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise to planet Timshel. (TOS novel: The Joy Machine)
