Kesh was the Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire from at least 2279, and through the 2280s. He was succeeded by Chancellor Gorkon.

Chancellor Kesh was established in the TOS novel In the Name of Honor, which also established that he was removed in a coup d'etat in 2287. However, the TOS eBook Mere Anarchy: The Blood-Dimmed Tide had Kesh still in power in 2291.
