For the warbird, see IRW Khazara. For the star system, see Khazara system.

Khazara was a Romulan military officer during the 22nd century, participating in the Earth-Romulan War.

Biography[]

In the year 2156, Khazara was promoted in rank from Captain to Vice Admiral by Admiral Valdore. Khazara then told Valdore that he felt the Romulan Empire would have to use tactics against Haakona Prime similar to those they used against Coridan Prime. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

By November 2159, Khazara again held the rank of Captain and was in command of the Romulan warbird IRW Aoi'fvienn. After having previously taken heavy damage in an attack by Andorian vessels, the Aoi'fvienn happened upon a Coalition convoy being escorted by the Earth Starfleet ships Enterprise, SS Intrepid and Republic in the Vorkado system. After being engaged by both the Intrepid and the Republic, Khazara chose to withdraw. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm)

In 2160, Khazara, now demoted to the rank of Centurion as punishment for his actions during the Battle of Vorkado, piloted a small scoutship on a suicide run towards the planet Draylax, causing massive damage on a planetary scale, similar to the attacks on Galorndon Core and Coridan. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm)

The attack was watched by T'Met, commander of the scout ship's carrier vessel, the ChR Terrh'Dhael, and Khazara's former lover. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm)

Legacy[]

Khazara was remembered as a hero to the Empire. In the 24th century, the D'deridex-class warbird IRW Khazara was named in his honor. (TNG episode: "Face of the Enemy")
