Ki'hiut was a Starfleet officer serving aboard the USS Stargazer in 2355. Upon the Stargazer's destruction, Ki'hiut was among those whose families Captain Picard dreaded facing. (TNG - The Lost Era novel: The Buried Age)

No race or gender are specified, though the character's name reflects the Betelgeusian naming convention previously established by the author. Ki'hiut probably came aboard sometime after 2333, as there are no references to the character in the Star Trek: Stargazer series.
