The Kiev-class was a type of frigate in service to the Federation Starfleet in the 23rd century.

The Kiev-class officially entered service on reference stardate 2/1610 and over the next decade 84 Kiev-class vessels were constructed and launched from the Salazaar and Merak shipyards, at a rate of 14 vessels per year. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)
