The Kismet was a transport ship which was disabled by electromagnetic pulses emitted by the star Alpha Centauri B when that star was unnaturally aged by time ripples from the Guardian of Forever in 2285. Leonard McCoy was aboard the ship at the time, being ferried to Earth. The crew of the Kismet were rescued by the USS Cochise. (TOS novel: Time for Yesterday)
