The Kitara was a Perikian-class interceptor in service to the Bajoran Militia in the 2370s. (ST:CCG: Energize)
In 2375, Colonel Kira Nerys assumed command of the Kitara and led a fleet of Bajoran vessels to form a blockade around Derna in order to prevent the Romulan Star Empire from equipping their hospital on the planet with plasma torpedoes. (DS9 episode: "Shadows and Symbols")
