The Klaestron are a spacefaring humanoid civilization from the planet Klaestron IV located in the Alpha Quadrant.

Biology[]

Klaestron were distinguishable from humans by the streak-like protrusions on the side of their head above their ears. Their outer ears consist only of a hole in their head.

History[]

The Klaestron had a civil war that took place in the mid 24th century. They had an extradition treaty with the Federation. They were allies with the Cardassians in 2369. (DS9 episode: "Dax")

A Klaestron ambassador was present at the trade conference at Deep Space 9 in 2370. Gul Marak came aboard the space station and tried to convince the Klaestron ambassador that they would prosper more if the Cardassians were in control of the region again. (DS9 novel: Betrayal)

In 2371, they developed a new burn treatment technology. Doctor Julian Bashir visited to review the new technology. (DS9 episode: "Second Skin")

The Klaestron were listed as Federation members in 2378. (ST reference: Star Charts)
