The Klingon Second Dynasty was a period of Klingon history, running until the 16th century with the assassination of Emperor Reclaw and the Imperial family by General K'Trelan. The ten year period to follow was known as "The Dark Time". (DS9 episode: "You Are Cordially Invited")

K'jtma bloodwine vessels were created during the Second Dynasty, though few survived through the Dark Time and into the 24th century. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
