Komor

Komor was a male Klingon in the 23rd century. He was a member of the Klingon Defense Force as a young man, and became close friends with fellow officer K'lotek.

By 2279, Komor was a member of the Klingon High Council. Shortly after his election, he visited the monastery on Boreth, and was so deeply moved that he obtained a piece of granite hewed from the monastery's mountain location, which he had made into a desk and kept as a memento of the place.

Early in his political career, Komor had objected to Chancellor Kesh's policy of attacking Starfleet vessels near the Federation border and taking their crews captive, rather than letting them die in battle. However, as a junior member, he yielded to Kesh's judgment that the prisoners were valuable as intelligence assets, and as bargaining chips in negotiations with the Federation.

By 2287, Komor was one of only three members of the Council, along with Kesh and K'lotek, who had been serving since the capture of the USS Gagarin, all of whom felt the revelation of these actions would endanger the Empire, and his own career. To preserve both, he employed J'rgan to spy on Captain Koloth, a loyalist to Councilor Gorkon. When Komor learned that Koloth intended to expose the prison on planet Pao'la where the survivors of the Gagarin were held, he ordered the prison destroyed, and all there -- prisoners and Klingons both -- killed.
