Cadet Korax was a 23rd century individual who was an upper-class student at Starfleet Academy in 2258, in an alternate reality. Korax was one of a number of cadets who were pressed into as service Starfleet officers by an emergency order from Admiral Richard Barnett during the crisis in the Vulcan system.

Korax in particular was assigned to serve aboard the USS Drake. (TOS novelization: Star Trek)

Since the Drake was not mentioned or seen as one of the ill-fated fleet destroyed at planet Vulcan, it could be reasoned that Korax survived the crisis. This character is probably not related to the Klingon named Korax.
