Kornan, son of Shovak was a Klingon man and a member of the Klingon Defense Force in the 2370s decade.

Biography[]

In the year 2373, Kornan was serving on the IKS Rotarran as weapons officer. By the time General Martok assumed command, Kornan had grown depressed at the ship's many defeats in battle with the Cardassians and the Jem'Hadar. Kornan later attacked Leskit and Ortakin, illustrating to Jadzia Dax how bad the situation on the Rotarran was. Kornan and the crew's honor was restored when Worf challenged Martok and the Rotarran engaged a Jem'Hadar fighter. (DS9 episode: "Soldiers of the Empire")

First splinter timeline[]

Kornan fought valiantly in the Dominion War and was decorated six times during the conflict. (KE novel: A Good Day to Die)

By 2376, Kornan had become a Commander. In that year, he replaced Tereth as the first officer of the IKS Gorkon. When the Gorkon started its mission in the Kavrot sector, Kornan began to prepare the crew for it. (KE novel: A Good Day to Die)

Several weeks later, Kornan supported Klag's stand against General Talak. During the battle in orbit of San-Tarah, Kornan took control, piloting the Gorkon after Leskit was injured. He successfully piloted the Gorkon through subspace eddies, before succumbing to his wounds, hoping he would go to Sto-vo-kor when he died. Leskit later gave a toast to his memory. (GKN novel: Honor Bound)

Just before he died, Kornan had been courting Kurak. Although she found him attractive, the two never began a relationship. (KE novels: A Good Day to Die, Honor Bound)

Kornan was succeeded as first officer of the Gorkon by Toq. (KE novels: Enemy Territory, A Burning House)
