Kosst Amojan was the leader of the Pah-wraith and was banished from the Celestial Temple by the Prophets. Unlike the other Pah-wraiths, Kosst Amojan was not imprisoned in the Fire Caves, but in a tablet kept in B'hala that foretold the Reckoning. Kosst Amojan's name was also used to describe a group of Pah-wraiths. (DS9 episode: "The Reckoning", DS9 novel: Horn and Ivory)

In 2374, Benjamin Sisko released Kosst Amojan and a Prophet from the tablet when he smashed it, leading to Kosst Amojan possessing Jake Sisko when the Reckoning began. Kosst Amojan was forced from Jake when Kai Winn Adami released chronitons that forced Kosst Amojan and the Prophet to withdraw. (DS9 episode: "The Reckoning", DS9 novel: The Fall of Terok Nor)

Later that year, Skrain Dukat released Kosst Amojan from a Bajoran artifact and was possessed by the Pah-wraith. The possessed Dukat travelled to Deep Space 9, where he killed Jadzia Dax and released Kosst Amojan into the Bajoran wormhole, collapsing it and starting a celestial war between the Prophets and the Pah-wraith. (DS9 episode: "Tears of the Prophets")

After Sisko released the Prophet who had taken over Sarah Sisko from the Orb of the Emissary on Tyree, the Sarah Prophet cast out Kosst Amojan from the wormhole. (DS9 episode: "Shadows and Symbols")

In late 2375, as part of the ritual to free the Pah-wraith from the Fire Caves, Kai Winn incanted Kosst Amojan's name. (DS9 episode: "What You Leave Behind")

In an alternate timeline in which Sisko and the crew of the USS Defiant were presumed lost, Dukat attempted to free Kosst Amojan using the Bajoran artefact. However, he learned of Sisko's disappearance and was arrested by Damar and Weyoun. (DS9 novel: The War of the Prophets)

Dukat was later possessed by Kosst Amojan and helped him reclaim the Celestial Temple. Elim Garak later told Dukat that he was merely a vessel and a puppet for Kosst Amojan, who no longer needed him now he had returned to the temple. (DS9 novel: Inferno)
