Kotan Darek was a Cardassian man who lived in the mid-24th century.

In the service of the Cardassian Union, Darek was assigned to oversee the construction of Terok Nor. To this end, Darek had a talented Bajoran named Charna Sar freed in order to design the space station. (DS9 comic: "Terok Nor")
