Koth was a Klingon male working as a prison warden on Rura Penthe in the 23rd century.
Biography[]
He took new prisoners, including Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy, on a tour of the prison when they arrived after their trial for the assassination of Gorkon. Thanks to the help of Martia, Kirk and McCoy were caught breaking out of the prison, awaiting the arrival of the USS Enterprise-A. Koth was in the midst of telling the duo the truth about who was behind Gorkon's murder (since they were about to be executed anyway) when the Federation Starfleet officers were beamed back to their ship. He then informed General Chang of Kirk's escape and offered to go after him. Chang decided to have Koth executed for his failure to eliminate Kirk and McCoy, though was ultimately killed himself before being able to order the execution.(TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)
