The Kovassii are a civilization native to either the Alpha Quadrant or Beta Quadrant of the galaxy, a humanoid species with traits that can include silver hair and eyes. They are strict followers of protocol and are offended by the display of bare hands. In 2370, they arrived at Deep Space 9 to negotiate access to the Bajoran wormhole. They had originally been scheduled to dock at Upper Pylon 2, however after the explosion of a bomb in that pylon, they were ordered to dock at Upper Pylon 3. (DS9 novel: Betrayal)

Two of the Kovassii is described as wearing topknots. Whether this is a trait of the species or an individual preference is not known.
