Krax

Krax.

Krax was a Ferengi male who lived in the 24th century. He is the son of former Grand Nagus Zek.

In 2369, Zek was hoping to retire but was unsure of whether Krax was suitable to succeed him. He named Quark as his successor and then faked his own death. Disappointed that Krax acted "like a Klingon" in his attempt to become Nagus, Zek stayed in his position as the Ferengi leader. (DS9 episode: "The Nagus")

The following year, Krax returned to Deep Space 9 with his father, who was taking part in the First Annual Deep Space Nine Poker Tournament. Krax placed several devices to monitor the poker table and implanted a device in his father's lobes through which he could give Zek advice on how to win. Zek was worried, as a previous attempt by Krax to use the communication device had led to Gral's cheating attempt being discovered. (DS9 novel: The Big Game)

Krax later became Rom's First Clerk when Rom became Nagus. As First Clerk, Krax was allowed to sit with the Economic Congress of Advisors. Krax helped to stop Brunt from unseating Rom. (DS9 novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed)
