The IGS Kumari was an Andorian Imperial Guard Kumari-class battlecruiser starship in service in the mid-22nd century. The first of its class, the ship was named after the first ice cutter to circumnavigate Andoria. The vessel was commanded by Commander Thy'lek Shran for 12 years from 2142 up until its destruction in 2154 by a disguised Romulan telepresence drone ship. The Kumari had a crew complement of 86. (ENT episode: "Babel One")
In December 2153, the Kumari followed the Earth ship Enterprise (NX-01) into the Delphic Expanse to assist the Humans in finding the Xindi planetkiller but also with the ulterior motive to secure a prototype of the weapon for Andorian Empire. When the two ships met, the Andorians helped the Starfleet crew with repairs and disrupting Xindi weapon tests, to the point of capturing the superweapon prototype. Captain Jonathan Archer succeeded in destroying the prototype the Kumari had captured, damaging the ship. (ENT episode: "Proving Ground")
In February 2154, the Kumari took part in the battle against the renegade Xindi commander Dolim and the superweapon, helping to save Earth. (ENT episode: "Zero Hour") Later that year the Kumari led an Andorian fleet in the Battle of Andoria against the corrupt Vulcan High Command. (ENT episode: "Kir'Shara")
While carrying the Andorian ambassador to the Babel Conference, the ship was destroyd by a Romulan drone ship disguised as a Tellarite warship. The 18 survivors, including Commander Shran and Lieutenant Talas, were rescued by Enterprise. (ENT episode: "Babel One")
In an alternate timeline where Vulcans had remained a violent and emotional species, General Shran commanded the ship during the Xindi Crisis. The Xindi targeted Andoria with destruction. The Kumari carpet-bombed planet Xindus into submission.
In the 23rd century, Commander Thelin th'Valrass of the Interstellar Guard starship IUES Kumari II created a display of the seven predecessors of his ship in the briefing room, including the IGS Kumari. The display remained in place after Hikaru Sulu assumed command. (ST - Myriad Universes novel: The Tears of Eridanus)
