For the primary universe counterpart, see Kurn, son of Mogh.

In the mirror universe, Kurn, son of Mogh, was a male Klingon warrior who lived during the 24th century, and a member of the House of Worf.

As of 2372, he held the rank of captain, and was the commanding officer of the IKS Hegh'ta. However, he felt that his elder brother Worf, the Regent of the Klingon Empire, was unfairly holding back his advancement, for fears that the Cardassians would accuse him of nepotism. For this reason, Kurn allied himself with Drex, son of Martok, in an effort to gain command of the new Regent-class ship IKS Gorkon. When Kurn learned of a betrayal of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance by the House of K'Tal, he tried to turn this to his political advantage. However, Commander Klag of the IKS Pagh also learned of this treachery, and due to his heroic actions to reveal it, was granted command of the Gorkon instead. Kurn, in turn, was given command of the IKS Ya'Vang. (KE - Mirror Universe short story: "Family Matters")

Kurn was able to survive the deposing of Worf as Regent in 2375, remaining as the captain of the Ya'Vang. Later in the same year, he teamed up with former Intendant Kira Nerys, and together they destroyed the Terran shipyard at Empok Nor, and captured Generals Zek and Julian Bashir. Afterward, Kurn received a promotion to general and replaced Duras as commander of the IKS Negh'Var. (DS9 - Mirror Universe novel: Saturn's Children)

Dark Passions

In 2347, Kurn was killed during the Second Khitomer Massacre on the planet Khitomer. (ST novel: Dark Passions)

The death of Kurn in 2347 must take place in a separate continuity, as the DS9 novel, Warpath, features Kurn, alive and well, in 2377.
