A Lagrange colony or outpost was an artificial space habitat located at a stationary LaGrange (L-5) point in planetary orbit.

In the 2030s, following the diversion of a series of killer asteroids headed for Earth, the largest were placed at LaGrange points and converted to O'Neill colonies, including Vanguard Colony. (TLE novel: The Sundered)
