In the mirror universe, Landar the Elder was a Romulan philosopher. His writings were well-known by the Romulan people, including Soleta and Rojan. The praetor Hiren allowed M'k'n'zy of Calhoun access to Landar's teachings, among other Romulan works, in 2347.
