Lantaru sector

The Lantaru sector was a region of space in or near Federation territory in the 23rd century. It was the location of a mining colony, Tanaris IX, and a scientific outpost, Outpost 771. It was also the location of a covert space station used by Dr. Bendes Kettaract in his efforts to create a stable Omega molecule. After Kettaract's molecule destablized, the resulting energy release destroyed the fabric of subspace through much of the sector. (TOS novel: Cloak)
