Laser cannon was a type of energy weapon used by Starfleet in the 22nd century-23rd century.

The Laser was an early Version of the Phaser.

these Weapons were used as early as 2155 when Starfleet armed there Vessels with Laser Weapons alongside their Phase cannons to combat the Romulan Bird of Prey.

sometime before 2233 the Laser cannon was Replaced by the Phaser bank and the Phaser array but Lasers continued to be in use until 2266.

by 2245 Laser Banks were used on every Starship in Starfleet.

The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) carried at least one portable Laser cannon which could be deployed on planets, using a microwave beam from the Enterprise to power it.

In 2254 the Enterprise's Laser cannon was deployed on Talos IV when the crew attempted to rescue Captain Pike from Talosian captivity, whilst the Talosians generated an illusion that the cannon had done little damage it had in-fact sheered the top off of the targeted rock structure.
