A Laser scalpel is a piece of medical equipment used to make surgical cuts using laser technology. It is used by many different races.

Reannon Bonaventure had used a laser scalpel to commit suicide after she had been recovered from Borg assimilation by the crew of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). (TNG novel: Vendetta)

This device was used by the Tarn Empire, however the Tarn forces on Torgu-Va did not use any laser scalpels prior to 2367. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)

When the Gorn Doctor Thak was accidentally injured by Crewman Bates in the year 2282. Doctor Bianca Wilder used a Gorn laser scalpel to heal the wounded reptilian. This laser scalpel had a biograft spray function which helped close the wound on Thak. (ST - Alien Spotlight comic: "Alien Spotlight: The Gorn")
