The Launching Pad is an establishment located in San Francisco on Earth. It is a favored bar for Cadets of Starfleet Academy, as well as other members of Starfleet, including Captain Benjamin Sisko.
One one occasion, Sisko and several friends were at the Launching Pad while they were attending the Academy, when Solok and several other Vulcans approached them. They told Sisko and his friends they were doing research on Humans and that they considered Vulcans to be superior to species with unsuppressed emotions. Sisko took exception to this and challenged Solok to a wrestling match, which the stronger and more sober Vulcan won. (DS9 episode: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")
In 2379, Jas Abrik visited the Launching Pad, where he thought Ambassador Worf might be before he boarded the USS Crazy Horse. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
