"Leonard Scott" was an alias used by James T. Kirk following his expulsion from Starfleet in the aftermath of the Talin IV disaster. Under that name, he was hired by Orbital Transfer Control at Intrator II to load and unload freighter cargo, and then hired by Captain Anne Gauvreau to join her aboard the SS Ian Shelton.
