Light kick was a form of capacitor-driven warp drive used by the Omian civilization in the Delta Quadrant. Operating on a principle of absorbed energy charge, the light kick would rely on uncountable metal tiles around the skin of the ship. The tiles would absorb radiant energy when the starship was in proximity to a star. When proper charge was achieved, the capacitors could be cycled to provide a initial release of energy sufficient to push the ship to faster-than-light speed and start a nuclear fusion reaction that would sustain the vessel's travel to the next star where a kick charge could be absorbed.
