Lihue was the capital city of the island of Kauai, in the nation-state of Hawaii, on planet Earth's Pacific Ocean. Lihue is the location of a shuttle field that offers shuttlecraft access to Honolulu's spaceport, the closest shuttle field to Kauai's Ka'a Beach.

Spock used the Lihue shuttle field to access a vacation spot at Ka'a Beach while on shore leave in 2253, and again to leave the area when he was recalled to planet Vulcan by Sarek. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory)
