Doctor Antaak attempted to correct his mistakes of the past by releasing a new augmented virus into the atmosphere of Qu'Vat that would hopefully allow QuchHa' Klingons to regain their cranial ridges. Unfortunately, the virus didn't work and thousands died, including Antaak himself. (ST novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)
