Lorkin was a male individual who lived in the 24th century and worked for the Tigan Mining Company as head engineer of the pergium mining company. He was also involved with the Orion Syndicate.

In 2375, he was blamed for not maintaining the waveguides as one malfunctioned and cost the Tigan family a thousand bars of latinum a day. It was at this point that Yanas Tigan told Janel to pay him and fire him.

Later on, Thadial Bokar claimed the malfunction of a transtator trans-sonic drill would not have happened if Lorkin had not been dismissed, and hoped Yanas would change her mind about him. (DS9 episode: "Prodigal Daughter")
