Losira was a 23rd century hologram replica of Losira, a Kalandan outpost commander who died around 7700 BC.

Biography[]

Vastly complex, the artificial simulacrum reproduced Losira's emotions, memories, and thoughts. (Adventures RPG module: Core Rulebook)

As a sentry, she functioned at least through the 2260s. She was capable of causing cellular disruption if she touched someone, but only to the specific intruder she was tasked with hunting down. At one point, her matrix was used to generate three Losiras simultaneously, each sent to stop a different invader.

In the year 2268, while defending against the starship USS Enterprise, Losira killed engineer John Watkins, transporter chief Wyatt, and geologist Robert D'Amato, but Captain James T. Kirk, Doctor Leonard McCoy, and Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu were able to avoid her and temporarily disable the projections. (TOS episode & Star Trek 9 novelization: That Which Survives)

Kirk was able to converse with her while in standby mode, asking her about the origins of the outpost, the nature of its long distance transporter, and the virus that killed her people ten thousand years earlier. Later, through surgical alteration, Petraw scout Tasm impersonated Losira based on the hologram's appearance in order to manipulate the Enterprise crew. (TOS - Gateways novel: One Small Step)

In 2269, as a hallucination, Kirk re-experienced being pursued by Losira, this time as a creation of Trelane. (TOS board game: "The Enterprise4 Encounter")

Later that year, on the Kalandan planetoid Gralafi, Kirk feared reencountering the hologram, but she did not appear there. (TOS novel: That Which Divides)

In 2273, McCoy recalled Losira while contemplating how V'Ger had achieved consciousness. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In 2298, Sulu's shoulder retained a scar, and still ached, from where her fingers barely brushed against him thirty years earlier. (TLE novel: The Sundered)

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate timeline beset by the temporal anomaly crisis, the Losira hologram was pulled into the late 24th century. She was skilled in the fields of command, engineering, and security. She could access security reports, her outpost's computer system, an EJ-7 Interlock, and a variety of scanners. (ST video game: Timelines)

Losira's height was that of Lee MeriwetherMA, the actor who portrayed her.
