Lyle Craig

Lyle Craig was the commodore of the fleet in command of the USS Hood in 2270. Under Craig's command, the Hood went to the Ciatella star system with three other ships, at the suggestion of Ambassador Ben Shamirian, to rescue Captain James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise. The ships turned the tide of battle with ships of various hostile powers that were seeking to capture the transwarp technology aboard Enterprise. Kirk told Craig he owed him one, but Craig asked him to deduct it from the three he owed Kirk. (TOS - Fortunes of War novel: Battlestations!)
