The Lytasians were a spacefaring species from the planet Lytasia, in the Alpha or Beta Quadrants. They were once involved in a conflict with the Ferengi Alliance, which lasted for five years. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
Formal first contact between them and the Ferengi took place on the Plateau of Drul on their homeworld. It was at this meeting where the "Sack Incident" happened, which began the conflict. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
On one occasion in the conflict, during the Battle of Prexnak, ten Ferengi stood alone against two hundred and seventy-three Lytasians, who overwhelmed and killed them. (DS9 episode: "The Magnificent Ferengi")
Their homeworld suffered considerable damage during the conflict, and after it was over the Lytasian Redevelopment Fund was created by the Ferengi to help rebuild (as well as to turn their world into a resort). (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
