M'Rek was a male Klingon who held the position of Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire in the 22nd century.
[edit] Biography
M'Rek was in power as far back as 2151 where he witnessed Starfleet Captain Jonathan Archer return the courier Klaang to the Klingon homeworld. (ENT episode: "Broken Bow", ENT novel: Kobayashi Maru (novel))
In 2154. during the Augment Crisis, United Earth Starfleet Captain Jonathan Archer impersonated a servant of M'Rek's in order to avoid a Klingon border patrol that year on a mission to prevent the destruction of a Klingon colony by a group of rogue Human Augments. (ENT episode: "The Augments").
By 2155, M'Rek's position within the Klingon Empire was threatened by rivals on the High Council due to the recent capture of Klingon battlecruisers by the Romulan Star Empire through remote control technology. When captured Klingon ships attacked the planet Draylax, the Coalition of Planets sent Captain Archer to the Chancellor to get an explanation of the seemingly Klingon made attack. However, M'Rek refused to answer him and told him that he would only get an answer by challenging Admiral Krell to a duel. The Human won the duel and M'Rek compelled the Admiral to tell Archer the truth of the Draylax situation. (ENT novel: Kobayashi Maru (novel))
