M'Tesint was a female Caitian who served as press liason on the presidential campaign of Governor Nanietta Bacco of Cestus III. M'Tesint recommended that Bacco answer questions posed to her so that she would appear cautious and not rash to set her apart from former president Min Zife. She also knocked down any idea of attempting to gain the favor of the Federation News Service.

After Bacco was elected president, both she and Esperanza Piñiero strongly recommended to new Cestus III governor Gari that she have M'Tesint replace Piers Renault as her press liason. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
