M'Pella
Talk0this wiki

Added by DS9 ForeverM'Pella was a female Bajoran who lived in the 24th century. In the 2370s, she worked as a dabo girl in Quark's on Deep Space 9. (DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)
Quark once thought to himself that Starfleet members were "dull, boring, root-beer-swilling slugs who wouldn't know a good time if M'Pella invited them up to her room for a nightcap". (DS9 novel: The Fall of Terok Nor)
In 2374, M'Pella was attacked by Grathon Tolar after she refused to dance with him. Quark stepped in and was stabbed by Tolar. (DS9 episode: "In the Pale Moonlight")
Later that year, M'Pella attempted to work her charms on Mechter, although the Lissepian was more interested in dabo than the dabo girls. (DS9 novel: Hollow Men)
In 2375, M'Pella and Leeta told Quark that they only wanted to give him ten percent of their tips, rather than twenty. When Quark thought he was about to be named Grand Nagus by Zek, he planned to take M'Pella with him to Ferenginar and give her her own room in the Nagal Residence. Quark soon learned that he was not to be the new Nagus and ordered M'Pella to rig the dabo table as part of his plan for Quark's to be "the last outpost" of the old Ferenginar. (DS9 episode: "The Dogs of War")
M'Pella continued to work in Quark's through at least 2376. (DS9 novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed)
Background information
Edit
- M'Pella was identified as being Bajoran in The 34th Rule, although she never had the Bajoran ridges on her nose in the series itself. This is explained as a rare genetic mutation. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Raise the Dawn)
