A magnetic interlock is a strong piece of technology.

Magnetic interlocks are used aboard Federation Starfleet starships as part of warp cores. Failure of magnetic interlocks could lead to a warp core breach. (ST movie: Generations, VOY episode: "Emanations", DS9 episode: "Our Man Bashir")

In 2378, a Satarran destroyed a Dokaalan facility that maintained a series of magnetic interlocks. The interlocks were used to keep together several asteroids that the Dokaalans had a colony on. (ST novels: A Time to Sow, A Time to Harvest)
