Mahmoud was a member of Starfleet in the 24th century.

Mahmoud was one of the Starfleet officers present at the Federation/Cardassian peace talks on Tohvun III. He would later take part in a game of soccer with several people, including Elim Garak. Mahmoud played the position of striker and scored one goal against Garak as goalkeeper. Garak soon learned and Mahmoud nor any of the other players scored goals past him after.
