The Mance was a Federation shuttlecraft which was attached to the USS Titan in the late 2370s and early 2380s. (TTN novel: Taking Wing)

In 2381, the Titan accidentally stumbled upon the planet New Erigol. A portal was opened in the planet's protective sphere, and an away team led by first officer Christine Vale and counselor Deanna Troi took the Mance to the surface. (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)

When the away team attempted an escape from New Erigol, their plan was to create a diversion and tap into the Mance's computers, activating the transporter to beam back Ranul Keru. However, Inyx caught the escape before the shuttle could power up any of its other systems, and drained it completely. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)

The Mance was likely named after famed jazz pianist Junior Mance.
