Marcos XII is a planet located in either the Alpha or Beta Quadrant.

It is the twelfth planet in the Marcos system and orbits a moderate sized orange star. It is orbited by one moon, Lora. (ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation)

An unremarkable world, Marcos XII has a population of many Federation aligned races, such as Humans Vulcans, Centaurians and Vegans. The total population is 6 million. (ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation)

In 2268, the non-corporeal being known as Gorgan wanted to conquer Marcos once he had been liberated from Triacus. Using the children of the Starnes Exploration Party, Gorgan was able to gain control of the USS Enterprise and head for Marcos. Fortunately, he was defeated by Captain James T. Kirk and the children. (TOS episode: "And the Children Shall Lead")

In 2293, Ambassador Alexandra Tremontaine completed a brief diplomatic mission to Marcos XII following the successful completion of negotiations on Orelte. (TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose)
