Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius (26 April 121 – 17 March 180) was a human male who rose to become Emperor of the Roman Empire on Earth in the mid 2nd century.
Aurelius was great warrior of Rome, a highly successful general who grew tired of battle. He was noted philosopher who wrote a series of meditations which came to be regarded as a literary monument to a government of service and duty.
In 2376 Jean-Luc Picard suggested Elias Vaughn, who was then considering retirement after a century of fighting for the Federation, was comparable to Aurelius. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)
