Marcus Garvey (August 17, 1887June 10, 1940) was a human who lived on Earth during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Of African descent, he became a major figure in the African-American community during the first part of the 20th century.

Garvey was one of the earliest leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. Garvey also started the Back-to-Africa movement that encouraged Americans of African descent to return to Africa. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)

In 2370, Commander Benjamin Sisko used the name Marcus Garvey as an alias while on a mission to retrieve a hijacked antimatter tanker from the Ferengi and Bajoran terrorists who stole the ship. (DS9 novel: Antimatter)
