Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929April 4, 1968) was a male Human who was a leader in the American civil rights movement of the 20th century, and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

After King's assassination, James Wykoff rued that Benny Russell's vision of Deep Space Nine (novella)|Deep Space Nine, where all Humans were equal, seemed very far away. (DS9 short story: "Isolation Ward 4")

In 1974, Doctor Sarina Kaur cited King, as well as Albert Einstein, as examples of exceptional Humans of the kind she hoped to create with her Chrysalis Project. (Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)
