See Martok (disambiguation) for other uses of the name.

Martok was a Ferengi male in the mid 24th century, serving in the Ferengi Alliance fleet.

In 2367, Martok was serving as first officer on a Ferengi starship under the command of DaiMon Turane, which was on a mission to explore previously unexplored areas of the Beta Quadrant. Officially, the ship was on a mission to find and exploit new markets for the Alliance. Unofficially, the mission was to send Turane somewhere where he couldn't embarrass his brother - a highly ranked official in the Alliance. It was hoped by some that Martok would assassinate Turane and take command of the Marauder. However Martok was reluctant to do so as he had been on profitable missions with Turane in the past, and had a small degree of loyalty towards his daimon.

During the course of the mission, the Marauder happened upon the Borg -- specifically, three Borg cubes. Turane insisted on exploring the Borg cubes, feeling that he could come to an understanding with the Borg. Arriving on the Borg ship, Turane was soon assimilated by the Borg. Martok died when the Borg attacked the other Ferengi and destroyed their vessel. (TNG novel: Vendetta)
