Lieutenant Matthew Chiavelli was a 24th century Human man who was a Starfleet officer. By 2379, he was serving as the security chief for the USS Musashi.

While the Musashi was assigned to Tezwa to assist in the aid and rebuilding efforts, Chiavelli issued regular security reports to the rest of the fleet. He was also involved in the strike team that traveled to Anara-Zel to capture Tezwan General Gyero Minza, having been responsible for neutralizing the scattering field that was preventing transporter operation.
